Normally a shy animal, nothing beats catching a glimpse of a Hare in the countryside. The European brown hare changes its behaviour in spring, during this spring frenzy, hares can be seen "boxing"; one hare striking another with its paws, its thought this is where the origin of the term "mad as a March Hare" comes from.
